Packing!!!
Hiyo from NYC!
This one will be a short one because I am still busy packing. After 15 years of living in the US, I am shipping all belongings to Thailand this Friday. I will fly out at the end of the month with the hope to come back (fingers crossed!)
The weight of things
I never counted how many books I have. Until now. The rough number is about 350. Of course, I can't carry them all home. So, some have to go :'-(
But it did make me feel a little lighter.
I have a hunch on why some people, myself included, own so many books. I will reflect on that later. Gotto pack first. ^_^!
Nostalgia and gratitude
I have been sorting through my stuff: notes, sketchbooks, photos, cards, mementos, a freshman yearbook, etc. While I don't even remember why I have been keeping some of them, they remind me of how fortunate I am. My past 15 years has been awesome. I have met amazing people, experienced/learned new things, and worked on cool stuff.
Here are some fun tidbits I snapped from my journals.
When you don’t get enough sleep because of a paper deadline, you might decide to create some artwork to console yourself…
Reading on a window sill looks more romantic than it actually is.
People who feed you = good people. Befriend them. Make them your roommates.
There are a lot of tea puns if you look for it.
WTF stands for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
A fake Australian is more critical of their coffee than a real Australian.
Until next time!
